MEPRD Funded Projects - FY 2006

Special thanks to the dedicated and hard working project sponsors who successfully completed the following projects. 

 

East Belleville Bikeway, Belleville, IL

This project consisted of creating a 1.5 mile long, 10' wide asphalt multipurpose trail beginning at the South Side park and ending at the Metro Bike Link Trail. 

 

Trail Extension from Glazebrook Park to LCCC, Godfrey, IL

 This project involved the construction of a hard surface trail in Glazebrook Park, located in Godfrey, Illinois.  This project enhanced teh existing trails within Glazebrook Park.  This project also involved the widening of a dam and a service road/joint trail to a gazebo shelter allowing limited and controlled vehicle access.

Frankling Ave. Bicycle Trail Tunnel, Edwardsville, IL

 Funding was provided for the construction of a tunnel at the Franklin Ave. intersection for trail users.  The tunnel connects into MCT's Nickel Plate Trail.

 

Sugar Loaf Township Walking Trail, Sugar Loaf Township

This project involved constructing 800 linear feet of 6' wide asphalt paved walking trail connecting Sugar Loaf Township Park to the Village of Dupo Community Park.

 

Drost Park School House Trail Restroom, Maryville, IL

Funding was provided for the construction of a comfort station providing restroom facilities, attached pavilion, picnic tables, and drinking fountains in Drost Park.

 

MCT School House Trail Connector (MCT Goshen Trail), Troy/Edwardsville, IL

MEPRD provided the funding for the development of a trail segment extending MCT Schoolhouse Trail in Troy by 6.9 miles to the Watershed Trail in Edwardsville and connecting this trail to several others in the region.

Hartford Trailhead and Bikeway, Hartford, IL

Funding was provided for the construction of a trailhead and double bikeway loop connecting the MCT Confluence Bikeway with the Village of Hartford.

Township Park Connector, Edwardsville, IL

Funding was provided for the development of the Township Park Connector extending the northeastern terminus of the MCT Nature Trail/Schoolhouse to the Township Park on Center Grove Road.
