MEPRD Funded Projects - FY 2009

Special thanks to the dedicated and hard working project sponsors who successfully completed the following projects.

Chouteau Island Recreation Trail & Parking, Madison, IL

MEPRD provided funding to assist in the development of a 1.5 mile nature trail north and south of the IL approach to the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. 

Lincoln Park Upgrade, East St. Louis, IL

 MEPRD provided funding to assist in the improvements of Lincoln Park.  Those improvements included various renovations to the pool-house and the improvement/construction of various structures within the park.

McKinley Bridge Ramp Down, Venice, IL

 MEPRD constructed a ramp down from the McKinley Bridge to the new park along Rt. 3 in Venice, Illinois.  Click Here to watch a video about the McKinley Bridge Bikeway project.

Worden to Staunton Trail, Staunton, IL

MEPRD provided funding to develop a 5.5 mile trail from Worden to Staunton.

Hamel to Worden Trail, Hamel and Worden, IL

MEPRD provided funding to develop a 3.5 mile long, 10' wide asphalt bicycle path. The trail begins at IL 140 in Hamel and ends in Worden, IL.

Scott Field Heritage Air Park, Scott Air Force Base, IL

MEPRD provided funding to develop the Scott Field Heritage Air Park just outside of the main gate of SAFB.
